IYM Residential Programme
What is IYM Residential?
IYM Residential is a STEMM camp like no other. IYM Residential will take you outside your comfort zone, grow your confidence and introduce you to a bunch of new friends and contacts.
Based at Silverstream Retreat in Upper Hutt, this programme is for Year 11 and 12 female students from schools in the greater Wellington region, Wairarapa, Horowhenua and Manawatū.
Over five days with 40 like-minded young women, you will experience hands-on science and technology activities and hear from women who have built careers and businesses in the STEMM sector. Each day, you will travel to a variety of science and technology businesses and organisations, research Institutes and tertiary education providers in the Wellington region.
Hear from inspiring speakers, reflect together on the day's experiences and relax together - aka make lifelong friends who share your passion for STEMM!

Inspiration
Here's what our some of alumnae had to say:
Lucy,
St Oran's College
It opened my mind to other opportunities in STEMM careers and made me think more about other options rather than just sticking to one.
IYM Residential 2026
Wynheart,
Paraparaumu College
IYM has shown me that there are so many different options to pick from when it comes to my future. I'll also be signing up for lots more different programmes like IYM.
IYM Residential 2026
Natalija,
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu
IYM made my overall love for science much stronger after I got to see all the amazing career paths available, especially science to do with outer space.
IYM Residential 2026
Student,
Newlands College
IYM taught me a lot about networking and social skills, and I have come away from the experience a lot more confident in my own academic ability, and my independence.
