Rotary and IYM
Innovative Young Minds was the brainchild of Rotary Hutt City, who initiated the programme in 2017 in partnership with Hutt City Council. In 2019, following the demand and growth of IYM, Rotary Hutt City and Hutt City Council established the IYM Charitable Trust to administer the programme.
Rotary Hutt City and Hutt City Council have trustees on the IYM Charitable Trust Board, along with a number of other experts and advisors. Rotary Hutt City liaises with Rotary Clubs around New Zealand to obtain sponsorship for students to attend the programme, ensuring IYM is accessible to students from all walks of life! The student payment is just a small portion of the programme costs.
Rotary and IYM
Rotarians have a motto “Service above Self”. Rotarians give generously of their time and vocational skills to serve the community in many ways, and the IYM programme would not be able to run with the generous donation of Rotarians’ time.
We are looking for volunteers to help with driving, fundraising and more
